Jump-roping used to be my favorite past time. I would skip around, bouncing from here to there with my jump rope. Reuniting with this past time was a wonderful experience, and I really enjoyed our activities in class today.
Looking beyond the absolute joy of having a jump rope in my hands again, I found that our team-building activities to be very dynamic. Looking beyond my own skills, having a friend double-jumping with me involved a lot of communication and adjusting my own jumping style. I think this is an experience that can be applied across the various spheres of life, no matter the age.
We tend to develop particular "ways we do things," but the challenge is having those "ways" flexible so that there are not too many complications when we all bring out "ways" together into a cohesive whole.
